What is Names Servers?

web hosting in google cloud

A namesserver is part of DNS that provides name-resolution services. It is a crucial component of Internet and determines the correct network location for any host name.

DNS uses a distributed network of name servers who share the responsibility of resolving names. This system is designed to handle large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.

In a system of distributed name servers, every name server maintains a database with host names and their IP addresses. These databases, called zone files and containing information configured by directives and resource record are known as zone files.

When a client asks a recursive sever for the name a host, the recursive sever will then query one or several authoritative name servers. They return a response to the recursive sever, and it is cached closer to clients for future queries. A recursive-server then sends the answer back to the end user. This information can be used to conduct further queries in order to resolve the host.

These authoritative name servers have resource records that map IP addresses to host names. These are the main name servers in every zone.

They are sometimes called root servers or top level names servers. These servers are used as the core of the Internet’s domain name systems and maintained by many organizations worldwide.

There are four different types of name servers. These include master, slave and caching-only. Each type performs different operations and can be set up in a variety of ways.

The masters store the authoritative and original zone records of a namespace. These servers also respond to requests for the same namespace coming from other names servers.

Slaves receive zone information from their master. Zone transfer is the process that allows this to happen.

Caching-only acts as a second nameserver but does not have any authority over zones. It stores the results of all name resolutions and returns them to clients after a specified time period, which is determined by the retrieved zone record.

The dynamic update mechanism allows zone files to be changed or added with a single command. The dynamic update option is configured individually for each zone entry by adding an allow-update or update-policy rule.

What is a website static?

A static website is a site where all content are stored on a server, and visitors can access it via web browsers.

The term "static", refers to the absence or modification of images, video, animations, and so forth.

This type of website was originally created for use in corporate intranets. It has since been adopted both by individuals and small companies who are looking for simple websites that do not require any programming.

Because they are less maintenance-intensive, static sites have gained popularity. They are simpler to update and maintain than fully-featured websites that have many components (like blogs).

They also tend to load faster than their dynamic counterparts. This makes them ideal for users on mobile devices or those with slow Internet connections.

Static websites are also more secure than dynamic ones. You can't hack into a static site. Hackers only have access the data in a database.

There are two main ways to create a static website:

  1. Use a Content Management System (CMS).

Why? Because you have complete control over your website. You don't even need to hire someone for help setting up your CMS. You just need to upload files to your web server.
